The Express Care RN practices autonomously and in accordance with professional nursing standards, within the parameters of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, and within the policies and procedures of Anderson Hospital . He/she is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and outcome evaluation within the parameters of the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act. The Express Care RN promotes safe and effective care to all age groups from neonates to geriatrics.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates flexibility to meet staffing needs of department and organization. 2. Effectively utilizes the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes. 3. Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to newborns, pediatric, adolescent, adults and geriatric populations. 4. Assess patient and family learning needs and provides ongoing education and evaluation. Documents readiness to learn, teaching, barriers and outcomes. 5. Completes documentation accurately and in a timely manner, according to hospital policies and procedures. 6. Provides leadership and autonomy in the professional practice setting and the profession. Assists with the orientation of new employees Precepts student nurses Delegates appropriately Self-manages time and responsibilities Functions as Charge RN 7. Supports patient's rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural, ethical and religious diversity. 8. Engages in activities to expand and/or enhance the professional nursing role, which includes integration of research and evident based practice. Seeks continuing education opportunities Supports professional Nursing organizations Supports Nursing Certification Utilizes evidence-based practice Supports and utilizes research in practice Supports committee/council involvement
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure/Certification:
Illinois license or eligible. CPR certification required.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in an acute care facility preferred; previous emergency care facility and/or urgent care facility experience preferred; previous charge experience preferred.
