Principal/Corporation Nurse SUMMARY:
The role of the Health Aide is crucial in assisting the Corporation Nurse in the implementation of a safe and healthy school environment in one of our Edgewood schools.

You can apply if your availability is for all schools or only some of the schools, but preference is for all school availability. RBBCSC is a smoke free and drug free environment.
EDUCATION/LICENSE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong social skills and diplomacy in interacting with parents, staff and students. Must demonstrate dependability and good judgement and communication skills. Actual hands-on skills will be taught on site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned. Observe and follow the guidelines established in the handbook "RBBCSC Health Services" regarding school, local and state policies and laws including communicable disease protocols. Coordinate procedures for the prevention and control of communicable diseases in the school corporation. Assist with the implementation of a safe and healthy school environment in the schools. Dispense daily and as needed medications as per MD orders or RBB protocol (and parents consent). Follow orders for kids with Emergency Action Plans or Individual Health Plans. Assist the School Nurse in communicating to administrators and school personnel, parents, and children in regard to health needs of pupils in the school. Document all student health visits. Fill out accident or incident reports as per RBB policy. CPR/AED and First Aid certification (will be provided upon hire); medical knowledge and experience preferred but not required Maintain a positive relationship with other staff, parents, and students. Provide emergency care for illness or injury occurring during school hours according to established school policy. Other duties may be assigned by the School Nurse or the principal.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to do simple calculations regarding medical provider orders as directed by School Corporation Nurse. OTHER SKILLS and
ABILITIES
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication in English.. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
