Team Select Homecare of Valparaiso is urgently searching for nurses to join our Private Duty nursing team! This specific position provides a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work one on one with a member of our community that has skilled nursing needs. Our patient is a pediatric and has care needs such as: tube feedings, G-tube management and care, medication administration, transfers, assistance with ambulation, ADLs, and attend school with the Pt (when back in session). Field nurses will work closely with the agency, family, and other service providers to ensure the best comprehensive care for the client. Responsibilities Monitor client's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and education. Observe and interpret client's symptoms and communicate to the case management nurse. Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care Plans of Care for their client. Adjust and administer client's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders. Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.). Provide instant medical care in emergency situations. Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for clients and their families.
