Henry Ford Jackson Hospital Schedule:
This contingent position works 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and requires a minimum commitment of 36 worked hours during each 6-week scheduling period. Candidates must be willing to participate in the department's call rotation, which includes approximately 1-2 call shifts every 6 weeks, and participate in the holiday rotation, with a commitment of one holiday per year, either worked in-house or on-call.
Unit Overview:
The Surgical Services Operating Room at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is a dynamic, team-focused environment featuring 12 operating rooms, including specialized cardiac, vascular hybrid, and urology suites. Nurses in this department provide care for a diverse patient population ranging from elective surgical cases to trauma and organ donation procedures. With a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, RN circulators play a critical role in coordinating patient care, maintaining patient safety, supporting sterile technique, and collaborating closely with surgeons, CRNAs, residents, and surgical technologists throughout each procedure. Role Overview As a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Health, you will lead the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. You'll utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, ensuring patients and their families receive the support they need. Qualifications Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Candidates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must be willing to enroll in an accredited BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of start date Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing Health care provider certification (BCLS) Minimum of 1.5-2 years of operating room circulating experience required for contingent positions Trauma Level I or Level II experience required Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Additional perioperative nursing certifications Experience in high-acuity surgical environments
