Job Description

Job Summary Life Care Center of Brookfield is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, a strong commitment to patient-centered care, and experience working across diverse medical settings. As an RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating patient treatments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. Your role will be vital in promoting health, healing, and well-being for our patients across various departments. Duties Provide direct patient care by performing thorough assessments, developing individualized care plans, and monitoring patient progress using advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Assist with complex procedures such as catheterization, suturing, dialysis management, and ventilator support in accordance with hospital standards. Conduct physical examinations, vital sign assessments, and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments including ICU, trauma centers, emergency rooms, and specialty units like cardiology or ophthalmology. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards (ICD-9/ICD-10). Educate patients and their families on health management plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs such as geriatrics or behavioral health cases. Experience Proven clinical experience in diverse settings including hospital medicine, critical care (ICU/Trauma), emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Background in specialized areas such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), nephrology (dialysis), or neonatal/pediatric intensive care (PICU/NICU). Knowledge of infection control procedures, sterile processing techniques, and advanced patient assessment skills. Prior experience managing complex cases involving pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, or trauma medicine is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding for procedures, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and trauma/acute care protocols enhances your effectiveness in this role.
