Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Rapid Response Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide immediate, high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions across various hospital units. Your expertise will support rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization of patients in urgent situations, ensuring optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, strong critical thinking skills, and a commitment to compassionate patient care. Responsibilities Respond promptly to rapid response calls, assessing patient conditions swiftly and accurately to determine appropriate interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff to coordinate urgent patient care. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Manage airway equipment such as ventilators and perform advanced airway management when necessary. Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterizations, and specimen collection while maintaining sterile technique. Monitor patients closely for signs of acute pain or deterioration and implement appropriate management strategies. Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during critical moments. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies related to patient privacy and safety. Requirements Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice. Minimum of two years of critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency medicine; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Proficiency with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with EMR/EHR management is essential. Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Skilled in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, ventilator management, and aseptic techniques. Ability to respond effectively under pressure during emergencies involving trauma medicine or acute care situations. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health incidents is advantageous. Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to teamwork and patient advocacy.
