ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking skilled Registered Nurses to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team at a 47-bed acute care hospital serving northern New Mexico's communities. This is a permanent, direct hire, full-time position for an RN who wants to deliver exceptional post-operative care and make a real difference in patient recovery at every shift. You'll provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures, work closely with surgeons and anesthesia providers, and take ownership of patient stability, comfort, and rapid recovery. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Assessing and monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia and sedation, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, and consciousness level Recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition Administering medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols Providing pain management and comfort measures to support patient recovery Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the nursing team to ensure optimal patient care Educating patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions Advocating for the physical and emotional well-being of every patient Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized recovery environment Mentoring peers, contributing to team huddles, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

Active RN License (New Mexico or Compact State) Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification current upon hire 1+ years of post-operative or PACU nursing experience

Preferred:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification Handle with Care Certification 2+ years of perioperative or post-operative nursing experience

Full-time, permanent position Day shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7 AM

•7 PM) Rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled On-call rotation required (varies by facility) No travel required for direct hire positions Flexibility in scheduling may be available based on facility needs
