Monday-Friday, day shift schedule—no weekends, paid holidays, and no on-call responsibilities. Position Summary Oasis Surgery Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. The Circulating Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care throughout the perioperative experience while ensuring compliance with physician orders, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional with strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery setting. Essential Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect nursing care using the nursing process and sound clinical judgment. Assess patients' physical and emotional needs before, during, and after surgical procedures. Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, operative site, and required documentation. Prepare operating rooms according to surgical schedules and physician preference cards. Maintain and monitor sterile technique throughout surgical procedures. Serve as the circulating nurse and perform scrub duties when needed. Position patients safely while protecting body alignment, circulation, and pressure points. Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures. Administer and accurately document intraoperative medications. Perform and document sponge, needle, and instrument counts. Label and handle surgical specimens appropriately. Complete accurate intraoperative documentation and inventory records. Maintain adequate operating room supplies and equipment. Participate in stocking, inventory management, and physician preference card updates. Maintain accurate controlled substance records and narcotic counts. Respond appropriately to emergency situations, including cardiac arrest, malignant hyperthermia, drug reactions, and fire emergencies. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and incidents according to facility policy. Participate in staff meetings, in-service education, quality improvement initiatives, and annual inventory activities. Maintain compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Qualifications Education & Licensure Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio. Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of related nursing experience. Previous operating room or ambulatory surgery experience preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and high-quality care. Ability to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions in emergency situations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to push, pull, and assist with lifting patients and equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with exposure to communicable diseases and specialized medical equipment.
