Job Description

POSITION TITLE
Clinical Informatics Registered Nurse (RN) Reports to:

JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Chief Ancillary Services Officer, and in conjunction with the Clinical Informatics Specialist, this position assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Electronic Medical Record system modules, supplemental support systems, and training of clinical and medical staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Collaborate with Providers to assure enhancements to the system meet their needs; be the primary liaison for this group. 2. Collaborate with all departments, and Information Technology (IT) personnel to troubleshoot and develop corrective action plans for EMR problems. 3. Participates in process improvement and change management to maintain or promote an efficient environment. 4. Coordinates all aspects of system updates as they relate to clinical departments. This includes reviewing release notes, testing updates in test system, coordinating for education of new functions before rolled from test to production system. 5. Coordinates and integrates clinical applications and workflow with other areas and serves as a key liaison with department managers. 6. The Clinical Informatics RN, in conjunction with the Clinical Informatics Specialist, is responsible for the design of clinical information solutions including nursing and ancillary applications. 7. Provides subject matter expertise to translate data into actionable knowledge in the end-user EMR practice. Protects all confidential information. 8. Works in partnership with leadership and staff to translate clinician requirements into specifications for Clinical Information Systems (CIS), and to redesign work-flow in clinical areas. 9. Works in partnership with the Information Technology Director and Clinical Informatics Specialist to review and make recommendations on security set up. 10. Assesses CIS training needs to develop and deliver appropriate training in a timely manner for all Electronic Medical Record (EMR) users. 11. Responsible for coordination of the nursing on-boarding EMR training curriculum. 12. Maintain downtime clinical forms, including order sets. 13. In collaboration with other departments as needed, create order sets for clinical staff use, with proper clinical committee approvals and sign offs. 14. Evaluate nursing workflows and documentation practices for areas of improvement via system design and build. 15. Utilizes current knowledge of clinical nursing practice to develop a practice-based model for Clinical Informatics, utilizing evidence-based practice, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) & Det Norske Veritas (DNV) standards, Meaningful Use and other practice standards. This can be for identifying and rectifying inefficiencies and for evaluating new build. 16. Possesses the willingness and ability to support a myriad of clinical end users in the full utilization of the appropriate application system with effective communication. 17. Manage complex demands from end-users and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely resolution of issues and efficient utilization of resources. 18. Participate in clinical facility committees as the EMR subject matter expert, as needed. 19. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations. 20. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and License:
Graduated from an Approved Registered Nursing program. Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Oregon, required
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years interacting in an automated clinical environment, required. Five years healthcare clinical informatics and previous experience implementing systems in a multi-department hospital, preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works indoors in an air-conditioned office environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent use of computer and phone, and standard office machines. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull using proper body mechanics and move/lift varying amounts of weight to a maximum of 50 lbs. This is a full time position and is eligible for benefits. #IndeedLUHD
