Telephone Triage Nurse (LPN or RN) Join a Collaborative, Supportive Specialty Practice Team We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Telephone Triage Nurse (LPN or RN) to join our established single-specialty medical practice. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly respected team of providers and nurses in a positive, patient-focused environment. Our triage department consists of three full-time nurses who work collaboratively to support a team of seven physicians and two nurse practitioners. Team members share responsibilities, support one another, and take pride in providing exceptional patient care. Primary Responsibilities Respond to incoming patient calls, assess concerns, and appropriately refer or escalate issues. Communicate physician instructions and recommendations to patients via telephone and electronic communications. Document all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Investigate and intervene in patient concerns and problem situations; document findings and report pertinent information to the Practice Manager. Counsel patients regarding test results, diagnoses, treatment plans, and physician recommendations. Coordinate scheduling of diagnostic tests, referrals, and emergency care when appropriate. Carry out physician orders and follow established clinical protocols. Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and all patient confidentiality requirements. Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff to ensure continuity of care and an exceptional patient experience. Qualifications Current Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience working in a physician office, specialty practice, or outpatient clinical setting. Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and healthcare technology. Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to analyze clinical situations, prioritize effectively, and take appropriate action. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, staff, and the public. Ability to remain calm and professional in urgent or emergency situations.
