Position Responsibilities:
As the Director of Nursing, you will provide 24-hour leadership and oversight of quality patient care and service delivery. You will partner with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a safe, collaborative, and patient-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of quality patient care and service delivery plans. Drive quality outcomes, patient safety, nursing growth, and professional development through the use of current Evidence-Based Practices. Foster strong interdepartmental and collaborative relationships across the organization. Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff while addressing performance concerns and initiating the Performance Expectation Process when appropriate. Recruit, interview, select, and hire qualified team members to meet the needs of the patient population and department. Provide oversight of staffing and workforce needs to support safe, effective patient care. Develop and monitor the annual department budget, including capital, workforce, and operational needs. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and implement cost-effective strategies while maintaining high standards of care. Continue to grow and demonstrate strong leadership skills, including delegation, mentoring, professional practice, and team development. Model and reinforce McLeod Core Values in daily leadership and decision-making. Professionally and confidentially manage physician and employee complaints, concerns, and workplace issues to promote a positive and productive environment. Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and national regulatory and professional standards. Ensure department practices align with applicable standards and promote a culture of continuous survey readiness. Participate in nursing and hospital committees as assigned or requested. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For We're looking for a collaborative, confident nursing leader who brings strong clinical experience, sound judgment, and a passion for developing people. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor's degree. 3-5 years of acute care nursing experience. At least 1 year of experience as a Charge Nurse or Patient Care Supervisor. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Candidates who are not BSN-prepared at the time of hire must be actively enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire.
