Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking compassionate New Graduate Registered Nurses for our Fall RN Residency in the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this structured program, you'll transition from student to professional nurse with comprehensive orientation, clinical preceptorship, and classroom education. You'll deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and build critical skills across diverse clinical settings. Responsibilities Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care under the guidance of preceptors and clinical educators Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments, documenting findings accurately in the EMRAdminister medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and provider orders Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns to appropriate clinical staff Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge plans, and health maintenance in a compassionate, understandable manner Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards established by HCA Healthcare and regulatory bodies Participate in classes, simulations, and skills labs that are part of the residency curriculum, completing all learning modules and competencies on schedule Incorporate feedback from preceptors and educators to continuously improve clinical judgment, technical skills, and professional practice Document all aspects of patient care, interventions, and patient responses clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner Support a culture of teamwork, respect, and collaboration by actively engaging with peers and contributing to a positive work environment Uphold HCA Healthcare's values of compassion, integrity, innovation, and patient-centered care in every interaction Required Skills Patient assessment Vital signs monitoring Medication administration Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation Care planning and care coordination Clinical decision-making Infection prevention and control Basic wound care IV therapy and line management Telemetry monitoring (unit dependent) Time management and prioritization Interdisciplinary team collaboration Patient and family education Basic life support and emergency response Professional communication
