The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality perioperative care before, during, and immediately after surgery. This role circulates in the OR, assists with patient positioning and preparation, maintains a sterile and safe environment, and performs accurate documentation and surgical counts. The nurse closely monitors patient status, coordinates with surgeons and anesthesia providers, supports infection prevention standards, and offers clear education and support to patients and families. Responsibilities Perform pre-, intra-, and immediate post-operative nursing care using the nursing process. Circulate in the operating room, including patient positioning, prepping, and maintaining sterile field. Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition during surgical procedures. Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation, including surgical counts and records. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to coordinate safe patient care. Support infection prevention and patient safety protocols in the operating room. Provide patient and family education related to surgical procedures and recovery. Adhere to professional nursing standards, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
