Location:

Vandenberg SFB, CA We are seeking a Referral Management Center Specialist to support our healthcare team at a Military Treatment Facility (MTF). The ideal candidate will provide professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination. In addition to Amergis' standard benefits package we are also offering the following: An additional $5.42/hour up to 40 hours/week Up to 2 weeks accrued paid time off Up to 56 hours of accrued sick leave 11 paid federal holidays

Work Schedule:

Mon - Fri 0730:1630 (excluding federal holidays)

Key Duties:

Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions. Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility. Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines. Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes. Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF. Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems. Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines. Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements:

US Citizen High school diploma or equivalent One year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification preferred Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross) where required by the supported MTF, plus HIPAA, Privacy Act, information assurance, and MTF-directed initial and annual training Working knowledge of medical terminology Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation, a Common Access Card, and MTF-specific badge and system access Physical Demands /
