Full Time Days Job Description Overview Hours:

40 hrs/wk Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

IU Health Urology

•Muncie 210 N Tillotson Ave, Muncie in 47304 The Referral Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing incoming patient referrals to the practice. This role serves as a liaison between referring providers, patients, and clinical staff to ensure referrals are processed efficiently, medical records are obtained, and appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. The Referral Specialist helps create a positive patient experience while supporting continuity of care and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Managed inbound and outbound phone communications Scheduling patient appointments Collaborating with clinical staff and other departments

•Seeking candidates with strong clerical experience. Previous customer service and medical office experience are highly desirable

Requirements:

Requires High School diploma or equivalent. Requires 2-4 years of relevant experience. Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration, and medical terminology. Requires working knowledge of payer billing requirements, regulations, and the third party appeal and denial process. We are an equal opportunity employer.
