JOB TITLE
Intake Coordinator
REPORTS TO
Operations Supervisor
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Intake specialist will assist with processing the arrival and discharge of patients. Work with a team comprised of medical and clinical professionals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete all aspects of the admission process through the agency electronic health record Process Client's belongings to prevent bed bugs and search for contraband Inventory, storing and securing Client's property Orienting new clients to the facility Ensure the safety of residents' (physical and emotional) wellbeing Ensure that the program policies are followed and document any deviation of said policies Provide crisis intervention when necessary Assisting with discharging and escorting patients off the premise Always utilizes universal precautions, maintenance of CPR certification and understanding of emergency procedures Keep the Admissions/Intake area clean and stocked Supervise clients during admissions Clean spills as needed Other duties as assigned including assisting if needed
REQUIREMENTS
Two years' experience in health and human servicerelated field, preferably working with cooccurring behavioral health and substance use disorders. Must be able to pass CORI and Drug Testing requirements Demonstrated understanding of, and committed to adhering to, federal and state policies (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA) Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, & boundaries. Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills. Candidates with lived expertise are encouraged to apply, if in recovery, must have two years of continuous sobriety Personal characteristics of understanding, dedication, empathy and genuineness are essential.
DESIRED SKILLS
Working knowledge of 12 Step Programs. Must be a team player and work well in a challenging environment. Knowledge of laws governing confidentiality and rules of ethical behavior. Knowledge of or desire to learn Motivational Interviewing skills. CPR certification, and Nasal Narcan training.
