Job Description

Description The Patient Account Representative processes all hospital and professional claims. Follows up on denials, implement established collection process. All duties should be done in a professional and courteous manner.
Duties include:
Processes all insurance claims while adhering to billing and compliance policies to ensure timely filing and successful cash flow of the accounts receivable. Collects on accounts receivable and past due accounts and sets up payment plans. Provides excellent customer service so patients feel welcome and have a positive first impression. Develops and maintains a good working relationship with patients, co-workers and insurance companies to assure quality customer service satisfaction. Requirements Minimum of a high school education. Minimum one year of previous experience in a healthcare office environment, health insurance billing, registration, or coding. Coursework in accounting or healthcare support (i.e. coding, billing, medical secretary) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Must be able to utilize all office equipment including personal computer and application software, printer, fax, copier, telephone and scanner to perform the job responsibilities associated with claims processing and reimbursement. Excellent customer service skills to improve interaction between internal and external customers. Must have good working knowledge of all insurance and/or governmental claims submittal, appeal processes, and collection processes ensuring compliance via verbal and written communication. Ability to multi-task, work steadily, efficiently and show constant vigilance to the details of the work.
Wage range:
$19.96 - $24.77 per hour
EMPLOYMENT VARIABLES
: Full time - 1.0 FTE Regular weekdays This position does have an option to be remote.
