Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Dental Assistant / Patient Support Representative Float to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our Robbinsville dental office by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to patient support, contributing to a positive and efficient patient experience. Background check and drug screen required. Responsibilities Assist dental providers during clinical procedures, including chairside assisting with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards. Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical records, taking vital signs, and verifying insurance information using patient management software. Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed when handling medical documentation and records. Support infection control protocols by maintaining aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental instruments. Assist with dental imaging procedures and maintain familiarity with anatomy knowledge relevant to dental assisting tasks. Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions about procedures, explaining dental terminology clearly, and supporting patients throughout their visit. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during treatments. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards. Skills Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or eCW for documentation and scheduling. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other clinical tools. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and managing young patients' needs effectively. Ability to perform front office tasks and chairside assisting with competence in four-handed dentistry techniques. Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control policies. Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse patient populations while maintaining professionalism. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Knowledge of dental terminology relevant to dental care and the ability to accurately document medical records.
