Referral Clerk/Patient Services Representative

Job Description

Mountain Community Health Partnership is seeking a full-time Referral Clerk/Patient Services Representative to support patient care and front office operations. As a key member of our team, you will help patients navigate referrals and specialty appointments while also providing exceptional front desk support.
Key Responsibilities:

Referral Clerk:
Process referrals to specialists, imaging centers, and other healthcare providers. Obtain insurance prior authorizations for referred services and proceudres. Schedule referral appointments and communicate details to patients. Track referral outcomes and ensure follow-up documentation is received. Coordinate with providers and clinical staff regarding referral needs. Process medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA regulations. As a
Patient Services Representative:
Assist patients in person and over the phone. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system. Collaborate with clinical, care management, and billing teams.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Experience in a medial office, clinic, or healthcare setting. Experience with EHR systems and insurance verification processes. Knowledge of referrals, prior authorizations, or medical record procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology. Proficient in Microsoft Office, detail-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
