Key Qualifications:

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Proven experience in advanced-level respiratory care, including assessment, treatment, and management of cardiopulmonary conditions. Demonstrated ability to oversee, operate, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, patients, and families. Experience teaching self-care techniques and wellness strategies to patients and families. Exceptional organizational skills to maintain accurate documentation and monitor departmental supplies. Dedication to patient safety, quality initiatives, and ongoing process improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gases, following established protocols. Administer respiratory medications and evaluate patient responses per facility guidelines. Communicate patient condition and therapy progress to care teams and make informed treatment recommendations. Educate patients and families on disease management, therapy devices, and self-care. Maintain comprehensive documentation and manage inventory for supplies and equipment. Engage in ongoing quality improvement projects and patient safety activities. Mentor and support staff development within the respiratory care team. Participate in department meetings, share constructive feedback, and contribute to clinical research when applicable. Float to other units as necessary and participate in on-call rotations.
