Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Respiratory Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional respiratory care to patients across various clinical settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in fast-paced environments, including intensive care units, emergency departments, neonatal and pediatric units, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through advanced respiratory therapy techniques, airway management, and critical care support. Duties Assess patients' respiratory status by monitoring vital signs, blood gases, and lung function tests to develop personalized treatment plans. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medication delivery with precision and care. Manage ventilators and other respiratory devices for patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics, and adults in critical and intensive care settings. Perform airway management procedures during emergencies like cardiac arrest or respiratory distress, ensuring patient safety at all times. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR) by documenting assessments, treatments, and patient progress efficiently. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as neonatal resuscitation procedures or trauma cases within Level I or Level II trauma centers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pulmonology, and geriatrics to optimize patient outcomes. Requirements Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the relevant state or country. Proven experience in hospital environments with expertise in critical care, ICU settings, or emergency medicine. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and respiratory device operation. Hands-on experience with ventilator management, airway management techniques, and medical equipment troubleshooting. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately and respond effectively during acute care emergencies. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
