In this energetic role, you will provide expert respiratory therapy services across various hospital settings, including critical care units, emergency departments, neonatal and pediatric units, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will support patients with diverse respiratory needs, from routine assessments to emergency interventions. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and respiratory function tests to determine appropriate therapy plans. Manage and operate a wide range of respiratory equipment such as ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, nebulizers, and airway management devices with precision and confidence. Administer respiratory treatments and medications following physician orders while monitoring patient responses to ensure safety and effectiveness. Respond swiftly to cardiac arrest emergencies and participate actively in life-saving procedures like neonatal resuscitation and airway management. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, and pulmonologists—to develop tailored care plans for patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, geriatrics, and trauma cases. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, maintaining detailed records of treatments administered and patient progress. Educate patients and their families on respiratory health management strategies to promote recovery and long-term wellness. Requirements Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification recognized by state health authorities. Proven experience in hospital environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, neonatal intensive care (NICU), or pediatric units; PICU experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and critical care principles related to respiratory therapy. Hands-on experience with ventilator management, airway devices, medical equipment operation, and pulmonary diagnostics. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and respond effectively during emergencies like cardiac arrests or acute respiratory distress situations. Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for documentation purposes. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team in high-pressure environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred. Experience working with diverse patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, geriatrics, and trauma patients; outpatient experience is a plus. $46.00 - $49.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
