Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist eager to provide essential respiratory care services in a dynamic hospital environment. This contract role requires a professional who can manage all facets of respiratory therapy independently and adapt to varying patient needs.

Nights:
7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Wednesday-Tuesday stretch: Alternating weeks of 36 and 48 hours Every other weekend required Holiday coverage as needed 13-week assignment
Qualifications:
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license issued by the state of Michigan Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required Proven ability to deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy services Experience working independently in an acute care or hospital setting Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Responsibilities:
Provide all aspects of respiratory therapy, including assessment, treatment, and documentation Deliver ventilator management, oxygen therapy, airway care, and emergency interventions Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to coordinate and optimize patient care Perform arterial blood gas analysis and interpret results for appropriate therapeutic adjustments Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital best practices Respond to code situations and provide support during resuscitations Educate patients and families on respiratory care as needed
