The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of respiratory care practices, critical care procedures, and patient assessment techniques. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing advanced respiratory support, managing ventilators, and delivering patient-centered care across various hospital settings. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes through precise airway management and effective respiratory therapy interventions. Duties Assess patients' respiratory status by evaluating vital signs, blood gases, and physical examinations to determine appropriate treatment plans. Operate and monitor ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and other respiratory equipment with technical proficiency. Manage airway procedures including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques in emergency and routine situations. Provide critical care support in ICU settings, including neonatal resuscitation procedures and trauma center interventions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and pulmonology to deliver comprehensive patient care. Administer medications related to respiratory therapy while ensuring adherence to medical terminology standards and safety protocols. Respond promptly to cardiac arrest emergencies and participate in emergency response protocols such as cardiac arrest emergency response teams. Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, device usage, and post-discharge care plans to promote recovery and health management. Experience Proven experience working in hospital environments with a focus on critical care, including ICU and neonatal units. Extensive background in respiratory therapy with hands-on experience managing ventilators and respiratory devices across diverse patient populations. Familiarity with emergency medicine procedures such as airway management during acute episodes or trauma situations. Prior experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable for handling complex cases efficiently. Knowledge of medical equipment operation, pulmonary physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for success in this role. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking purposes. Experience providing outpatient services or clinic-based respiratory therapy is advantageous but not mandatory.
