Job Description

Respiratory Therapy Director We are seeking an experienced and motivated Respiratory Therapy Director to lead our Respiratory Therapy Department. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the professional development of respiratory therapy staff. Key Responsibilities Direct and coordinate Respiratory Therapy Department operations. Provide respiratory therapy services when needed, including patient assessments, treatments, ventilator management, and emergency response. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate department staff. Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with CMS requirements, hospital policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. Maintain department equipment, supplies, competencies, and required documentation. Monitor quality measures and participate in performance-improvement initiatives. Manage the department budget and promote efficient use of resources. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and other departments to support safe, coordinated patient care. Participate in emergency preparedness and hospital committee activities as assigned. Schedule Full-time leadership position. The successful candidate must be available to support department operations and respond to staffing or patient-care needs as necessary. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Current Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner license in good standing. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred. Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certification preferred or required within a designated period after hire. Previous respiratory therapy experience required. Supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of respiratory care standards, quality improvement, and healthcare regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to respond effectively in emergency and critical-care situations.
