Job Description
Comanche County Medical Center is hiring a Full Time Respiratory Therapist and Respiratory Therapist Manager to help serve our patient needs throughout the hospital. We are a rural Critical Access Hospital with community-minded staff who provide excellent patient care. We offer competitive salaries & benefits! We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist who is self-motivated and a team player with commitment to excellence and delivering excellent customer service. There is no on-call! Scope/Impact Under the supervision of a physician and the Supervisor of Respiratory Care, administers prescribed cardiopulmonary procedures, performs a variety of technical procedures and assists in the cleaning, maintenance, and disinfection of cardiopulmonary equipment. Job Functions Directs and performs pulmonary function testing on patients. Administers or directs the administering of gas, aerosol therapy and IPPB therapy. Supervises, performs or directs arterial punctures and analysis of arterial blood gasses. Maintains or supervises the maintenance and the removal of secretions through various methods. Places and supervises patients on ventilator and monitor them continuously. Supervises and performs ECGs and prepares them for physician interpretation. Discusses the condition and treatment of patients with the patient's physician and cardiopulmonary staff members and recommends changes in care when indicated. Monitors cardiopulmonary services to assure quality and seek improvements. Provide quality assurance reports to the hospital Quality Assurance Committee. Maintaining stock levels of supplies and for obtaining and maintaining required equipment. Establish a system for the procurement, storage, control, and issue of cardiopulmonary supplies. Recommends equipment to be purchased or modification of existing equipment. Provides for the maintenance of equipment including preventive and periodic maintenance, and for its cleaning. Responsible for following departmental policies, procedures, and practices consistent with hospital policy. Assures compliance with federal, state and other regulations or standards pertaining to cardiopulmonary operations. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on daily basis. Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere. Follows aseptic procedures and procedures for using Universal Precaution when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious materials.
