Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, patient goals, and evidence-based practice Provide direct therapy services to a diverse caseload across multiple settings, adapting interventions to age, diagnosis, and functional needs Document evaluations, goals, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with facility, payer, and professional standards Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, social workers, educators, and other team members to coordinate and optimize patient care Educate and train patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, home programs, and safe swallowing recommendations Participate in case conferences, IEP meetings, care plan meetings, and other interdisciplinary discussions as required by each placement site Adhere to all professional, ethical, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA, state practice acts, and facility policies Adjust to varying caseloads, documentation systems, and workflows in different facilities while maintaining high-quality care and productivity expectations Engage in ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities offered by Jackson Therapy Partners to enhance clinical skills and advance career growth Required Skills Speech, language, and cognitive-communication assessment Swallowing (dysphagia) assessment and treatment Development of individualized treatment plans Pediatric and/or adult speech-language intervention techniques Use of standardized assessment tools and outcome measures Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) familiarity Clinical documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency Interdisciplinary team collaboration Patient and caregiver education and counseling Knowledge of evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology Time management and caseload prioritization Understanding of school-based IEP processes (if school placements) Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements related to therapy services
