Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for adult patients in their homes Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans that target specific communication impairments, incorporating evidence-based techniques and current best practices. Deliver engaging therapy sessions via in-person visits or telehealth platforms, adapting methods to meet each patient's unique needs and capabilities. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care strategies and effective communication across settings. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to optimize outcomes and ensure continuous improvement. Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate families and caregivers on speech-language strategies, exercises, and activities to reinforce progress outside of therapy sessions. Experience Demonstrated expertise in speech-language pathology across diverse patient groups, including those with speech impairments, language delays, or disabilities. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing functions. Experience conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations using standardized tools and techniques. Familiarity with telehealth therapy delivery methods and platforms to provide remote services effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals.
