School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students with speech and language needs in a school-based setting near Putnam, CT. We are seeking a motivated professional—either a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)—to collaborate with educational staff and help children reach their communication goals. Make a difference by bringing your expertise where it matters most.
Desired Qualifications:
Hold an active license or certification as an SLP or SLPA in the state (or eligible to obtain) Previous experience working in schools or with pediatric populations preferred Familiarity with IEP processes, documentation, and direct/indirect service models Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively across grade levels and with diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in accordance with IEPs Conduct assessments, screenings, and progress monitoring Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to planning and goal setting Adapt therapy approaches to individual student needs Candidates in this contract role enjoy the chance to work flexible hours within the school calendar, gain valuable school-based experience, and impact the lives of students in a supportive educational environment.
