The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Therapist to provide evaluation and treatment for residents with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. In this resident-centered role, you will complete assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, deliver 1:1 and group therapy, and document progress in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with nursing, rehab, and medical staff, educate residents and families, and support discharge planning while contributing to a compassionate, team-oriented care environment. Responsibilities Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing function using standardized and clinical assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting communication, cognition, and dysphagia goals. Provide direct 1:1 and group therapy sessions and adjust interventions based on resident progress. Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and medical staff to coordinate care and support discharge planning. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies and home programs. Ensure services comply with state, federal, and facility regulations and professional standards of practice. Participate in care conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives within the facility.
