Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist in an elementary school environment. This contract position offers an engaging chance to make a direct impact, working closely with young learners and supportive educational staff. Our client seeks a dedicated professional to serve as a long-term substitute starting around October for approximately 10 weeks, followed by a consistent schedule of two days per week thereafter.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Active Speech-Language Pathology license and SLP-CCC credential Previous experience in school-based SLP or pediatric SLP settings strongly preferred Understanding of the healthcare needs specific to speech-language services in schools Excellent interpersonal abilities for communicating with students, teachers, and families Effective report-writing, documentation, and progress monitoring skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop individualized plans Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and reports as required Attend and participate in team meetings, IEP processes, and staff development as necessary Offer guidance on communication strategies for teachers and parents
