PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, families, colleagues and supervisors;
  • Develop and adhere to a daily schedule in alignment with school hours and in accordance with the current contract;
  • Meet with the supervising speech pathologist weekly to discuss progress, receive direction, exchange information and for general case consultation as indicated;
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing;
  • Implement IEP services under the direction of the supervising SLP in both the classroom and pull-out settings;
  • Modify and differentiate lessons to meet student needs with guidance from the supervising SLP;
  • Actively engage in activities with students in developmental play which may include bending, kneeling, lifting and or sitting at a child's level as needed;
  • Maintain progress data related to student performance/goals and assist in required progress reporting;
  • Ensure all IEP paperwork, including progress reports, is provided to supervising SLP and Team Chair within required timelines;
  • Implement behavior management programs for students as designed by certified staff, observe and report significant student behavior, behavioral patterns, etc. to the SLP.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development per AFT contract;
  • Comply with relevant MA state laws and regulations as well as district policies; and
  • Perform other related tasks or duties as assigned by the building Principal.
