School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Rumford, Maine

Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a dynamic school environment near Rumford, ME. This full-time role extends throughout the entire school year and offers a chance to make a genuine impact in the academic and personal lives of children.
Key Qualifications:
Active SLPA license/certification in the state of Maine (or eligibility to obtain prior to start) Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred, but not required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, SLPs, and other support staff Comfortable working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds Reliable, organized, and flexible in adapting to changing student needs
Responsibilities:
Deliver speech and language support services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs Track student progress and contribute accurate data for review and documentation Support classroom teachers with strategies for integrating speech/language activities Engage and motivate students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and family members regarding progress
