Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Virginia, or eligible for licensure Previous experience in a school environment or working with children preferred Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to follow therapy plans and instructional guidance from supervising SLPs Passion for empowering students with communication challenges
Responsibilities:
Assist with carrying out speech and language therapy sessions under the direction of a certified Speech-Language Pathologist Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and therapy activities as assigned Document student progress and maintain accurate records Support generalization of therapy strategies into the classroom and daily school routines Provide instructional and clerical support, including preparation of therapy materials Participate in school team meetings when appropriate and communicate effectively with staff and families Enjoy the rewarding experience of helping children enhance their communication skills and achieve academic success.
