In this vital role, you will be responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure a sterile environment for patient procedures. Your expertise will support infection prevention efforts and uphold the highest standards of medical safety. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of sterile processing techniques, medical terminology, and infection control protocols, contributing to the seamless operation of our sterile services department. Candidates must be available to complete onboarding no later than 09/14/2026 and must work the strike beginning 09/15/2026. Duties Perform thorough decontamination and cleaning of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical devices using approved sterilization methods. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments and equipment in accordance with established aseptic techniques. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies, ensuring proper storage, documentation, and timely replenishment. Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers following manufacturer guidelines and safety standards. Reprocess complex medical devices including endoscopes with attention to detail in reprocessing steps to prevent cross-contamination. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation. Follow strict infection prevention protocols to minimize healthcare-associated infections and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to meet specific instrument handling and sterilization needs. Participate in ongoing training on infection control practices, new sterilization technologies, and regulatory updates.
Assignment Details:
Per diem strike assignment MUST be available to work the strike on 09/15/2026 - 9/14 and work 9/15 strike (09/15-09/16 for Night Shifts). MUST report for onboarding no later than 09/14/2026 Minimal compliance onboarding Day shift: 06:00 - 18:00 No on-call requirement 2 open positions Attending orientation is mandatory to qualify for the strike assignment Candidates who attend orientation but do not work the strike will not be paid for orientation
Must Haves:
Recent Central Sterile Technician experience Ability to report for onboarding by 09/14/2026 Must be available and committed to working the 9/14 and work 9/15 strike (09/15-09/16 for Night Shifts). strike Strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures Experience with decontamination, sterilization, inspection, assembly, and preparation of surgical instruments Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment Strong attention to detail and adherence to infection prevention standards
Required Compliance:
Active license verification, as applicable BLS certification ACLS certification, as applicable PALS certification, as applicable NRP certification, as applicable Proof of MMR vaccination or attestation of vaccination/declination Proof of Varicella vaccination or attestation of vaccination/declination HC1
Pay:
