Oral Facial & Implant Specialists, P.C. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to join our oral and maxillofacial surgery team. This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by ensuring all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready for patient procedures. In addition to sterilization responsibilities, you'll support our clinical team with patient care, room setup, patient recovery, and maintaining an efficient surgical environment. Whether you're an experienced sterilization technician, a dental assistant looking for part-time hours, or someone eager to begin a career in dentistry, we'd love to meet you. Responsibilities Clean, disinfect, sterilize, package, and organize surgical and dental instruments. Prepare surgical trays and treatment rooms for daily procedures. Follow OSHA, CDC, and office infection control protocols. Maintain sterilization logs and biological monitoring records. Monitor instrument inventory and notify management of repair or replacement needs. Perform routine maintenance and testing of sterilization equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical areas. Clinical Support Assist with operatory setup and room turnover. Support the surgical team during procedures as needed. Monitor post-operative recovery patients. Reinforce post-operative instructions. Take diagnostic radiographs (training available if needed). Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day. Team Responsibilities Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service. Assist teammates wherever needed to provide outstanding patient care. Participate in continuing education and office training. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Dental, oral surgery, medical assisting, or sterile processing experience preferred. Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain. Knowledge of dental instruments and infection control procedures is a plus. The Ideal Candidate Dependable and punctual. Organized with exceptional attention to detail. Work around blood, bodily fluids, sterilization chemicals, and medical equipment while following OSHA safety standards. Maintain close visual attention while inspecting and processing instruments.
