In this contract opportunity, your expertise will significantly contribute to maintaining the highest standards in infection prevention and patient safety within a dynamic surgical environment.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Valid Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) Previous experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare setting Strong knowledge of sterilization standards and infection control procedures Proficiency with cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, and instrument assembly Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with surgical teams and other departments Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety protocols
Main Responsibilities:
Disassemble, clean, disinfect, and reassemble surgical instruments following strict protocols Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washers Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity Prepare surgical trays and instrument sets according to surgeon preferences and procedural requirements Maintain accurate records for sterilization loads, biological testing, and equipment tracking Collaborate with nursing staff and surgical teams to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies Monitor inventory and report equipment needs or repairs
