Job Description

St. Louis Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician to support our clinical team and help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient environment for our patients and staff. Our pediatric dental offices are designed to create a fun, positive, and engaging experience for children and families while providing high-quality, comprehensive dental care. What You'll Do As a Sterilization Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting the clinical team by ensuring instruments and treatment areas are properly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and prepared for patient care. You will help maintain efficient clinical operations while following established infection control and safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments according to established protocols Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed Prepare and organize sterilized instruments and supplies for clinical use Maintain accurate sterilization logs and documentation Monitor sterilization indicators and report any issues or concerns promptly Properly handle, transport, and store contaminated and sterilized instruments Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked sterilization and clinical areas Assist with operatory turnover and preparation as needed Ensure dental instruments and supplies are available to support daily patient flow Follow OSHA, infection control, HIPAA, and other applicable safety and regulatory standards Properly dispose of biohazardous and contaminated materials according to established procedures Communicate supply or equipment needs to the appropriate team members Support the clinical team with additional tasks as needed Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a dental, healthcare, sterilization, or clinical environment preferred Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow established procedures and safety protocols consistently Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple priorities Comfortable working around children and in a pediatric healthcare environment Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
