Duties Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with established protocols. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical instruments, ensuring timely replenishment and proper storage. Operate specialized sterilization equipment such as autoclaves with precision. Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Implement infection prevention measures by adhering to aseptic techniques during instrument handling and reprocessing procedures. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilized instruments to verify cleanliness, integrity, and functionality before distribution. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate the proper handling and use of sterile instruments during surgical procedures while ensuring strict infection control practices. Skills Extensive knowledge of sterile processing techniques including instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization methods. Proficiency in inventory management systems for tracking supplies and maintaining stock levels efficiently. Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures for accurate instrument handling. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical equipment operation, and endoscope reprocessing standards. Expertise in infection prevention management, healthcare infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate sterilization equipment safely while adhering to regulatory guidelines for medical equipment sterilization. CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) →
