Duties Prepare, assemble, and package sterile medical instruments and surgical supplies following strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination. Manage inventory levels by accurately tracking supplies, restocking shelves, and ordering necessary items to maintain optimal stock levels. Perform decontamination and sterilization of medical equipment, including complex devices such as endoscopes, ensuring compliance with sterilization standards. Conduct thorough inspection and handling of surgical instruments, verifying proper function and cleanliness before distribution. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, inventory transactions, and equipment maintenance to support compliance with healthcare regulations. Assist in infection prevention efforts by adhering to strict infection control procedures during all processing activities. Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies and respond promptly to urgent requests. Requirements Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, or related healthcare support roles. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to accurately handle diverse surgical instruments and equipment. Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and hospital sterilization protocols. Ability to operate specialized medical equipment used in sterilization and reprocessing procedures. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory efficiently using inventory management systems. Understanding of healthcare infection control standards and surgical instrument handling best practices. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in all tasks.
