Arnold & Sunset Hills, MO Meramec Dermatology is a growing dermatology practice committed to providing exceptional patient care in a welcoming, supportive, and team-oriented environment. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to join our clinical team in Arnold & Sunset Hills, MO. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced setting while helping create an outstanding experience for every patient. This position provides the opportunity to work closely with physicians and contribute to high-quality dermatologic care. Key Responsibilities As a Surgical Assistant, you will support our providers and clinical team through a variety of patient care and procedural responsibilities, including: Welcome patients, collect medical histories, and accurately document information in our electronic medical record (EMR) system. Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examinations and surgical procedures. Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and medical equipment. Prepare and administer injections, medications, and other treatments under physician supervision. Assist physicians during dermatologic surgical procedures. Capture clinical photographs as directed. Communicate with patients regarding their care in person, by phone, and through the electronic medical record system. Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients while supporting a positive team environment. Assist with prior authorizations, documentation, and additional paperwork as needed. Maintain medical supply inventory and restock supplies as necessary. Follow all healthcare regulations and safety standards, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements. Perform additional duties as needed to support daily office operations. Ideal candidates will have:
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of experience in a medical office setting; dermatology experience is preferred but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Basic knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, and clinical procedures. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proficiency with computers, tablets, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Dependable work habits and strong attention to detail.
