Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic oral surgery practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with specialized knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and patient care. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our oral surgeons during complex procedures, ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for patients. While previous experience is helpful, we are willing to train the right candidate. Must be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterile instruments and supplies, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist oral surgeon during surgical procedures by managing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear operative field. Take and develop dental radiographs, including X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Monitor vital signs and patient responses throughout procedures to ensure safety and comfort Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients, including medication guidance and care procedures. Clean and sterilize rooms and equipment both before and after surgical procedures. Stock surgical rooms and keep inventory of supplies. Support the front desk team by answering phones, filing and other basic office duties during downtime. Uphold strict infection control standards by following OSHA guidelines and maintaining a sterile environment at all times. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with experience in chairside assisting for oral surgery procedures. Experience with medical imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner technology. Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique within a clinical setting. Ability to interpret vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration when required. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and external providers.

Pay:

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
