Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to support safe, efficient surgical care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will prepare operating rooms, organize and maintain sterile instruments, and assist surgeons and nurses throughout procedures. You'll uphold strict aseptic technique, perform accurate counts, and support patient positioning and room turnover. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and available. Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments, handling specimens, and maintaining a sterile field. Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps to support patient safety and prevent retained items. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot basic OR equipment and ensure proper functioning before and during procedures. Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under the direction of the surgical team. Adhere to strict infection prevention, aseptic techniques, and hospital safety policies at all times. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to support efficient, patient-centered care. Maintain accurate documentation related to procedures, supplies used, and equipment issues. Support room turnover, cleaning, and restocking between cases to optimize OR efficiency. Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain certifications and advance clinical skills.
