This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time as our practice continues to expand. The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of surgical care. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating the surgeon's needs, and providing skilled intraoperative assistance during a wide variety of plastic and reconstructive procedures. Our practice specializes in plastic and oral surgery. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and committed to providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Prepare and set up the operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies for each procedure. Maintain strict sterile technique and comply with all infection prevention and patient safety standards. Assist the surgeon throughout procedures by anticipating operative needs, passing instruments, handling sutures, retracting tissue, and maintaining optimal surgical efficiency. Perform instrument counts with the circulating nurse according to established protocols. Prepare, inspect, and troubleshoot surgical equipment to ensure proper function before and during procedures. Assist with specimen handling and proper labeling when applicable. Maintain organization of surgical instruments and ensure appropriate cleaning, sterilization, and storage after each procedure. Help turn over operating rooms efficiently between cases. Participate in inventory management, stocking surgical supplies, and communicating equipment or supply needs. Maintain accurate documentation as required using the electronic medical record (EMR). Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to provide outstanding patient care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center, plastic surgery, ENT, oral/maxillofacial surgery, or other surgical specialty preferred. Experience with cosmetic or reconstructive plastic surgery is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and infection prevention practices. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs and work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Professional demeanor with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Flexibility to adapt to changing surgical schedules and case complexity.
