• Position Description:

• Surgical Technologist Lead
• + Acts as the shift lead to staff and assists management with daily operations of the department.

+ The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care. + Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field. + Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc. + Assists with inventory of sterile supplies. + May assist in patient transport.

• Requirements:

• + Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or LPN Technical Diploma and 2 years surgical technician experience OR completion of a military or hospital based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

+ Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT + Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross + High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Specific Skills:

• + Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up + Broad Knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation and equipment + Interpersonal skills
