Full Job Description Job Summary:
A scrub tech in a bioskills lab is responsible for providing support and assistance during medical and surgical procedures, as well as maintaining a clean environment within the lab. This role primarily provides support for activities in the fields of medicine and surgery. This is a per-diem position that requires flexibility in working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Surgical Assistance:
Prepare and organize the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures. Assist surgeons and researchers during surgical procedures by ensuring they have the proper Equipment and supplies. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain a clean field throughout the procedure.
Lab Maintenance:
Ensure the disinfection of all instruments and equipment used in the lab at the end of each day. These include Instruments, surgical trays, tables and other equipment and materials as required. Adherence to
Regulations:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing surgical practices and laboratory operations are being followed by the participants.
Documentation:
Assist in the documentation and record keeping for all specimens and equipment used during the training or research procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification. Bilingual preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Understanding of medical and surgical terminology. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds. Being able to stand for long periods of time.
