Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Experienced surgical professionals play a vital role in delivering top-quality patient care before, during, and after procedures. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Nursing - ORT or Certified Surgical Technician who thrives in a fast-paced operating room environment and values team collaboration.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST), or Nursing - ORT credential Prior experience in operating room settings assisting on various surgical procedures Comprehensive understanding of surgical aseptic technique and infection control guidelines Proficiency with surgical instrumentation setup and sterile field management Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical teams quickly and efficiently Strong communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operating area ensuring surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for each procedure Support surgeons during operations by passing instruments, counting supplies, and maintaining a safe surgical field Monitor, assess, and ensure proper patient positioning and safety throughout procedures Assist with equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and inventory management Comply with facility protocols, industry standards, and best practices for surgical care Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding patient status and operative progress This position offers the chance to expand your clinical experience in a supportive environment focused on patient safety and effective teamwork.
