The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer plays a vital role in providing exceptional outpatient obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound services. This position performs high-quality ultrasound examinations while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a supportive clinical environment. The Sonographer uses clinical expertise and attention to detail to produce accurate diagnostic images, ensure quality standards are met, and provide a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and procedures in accordance with physician or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) orders and established imaging protocols. Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy. Instruct, prepare, and assist patients before and during procedures to ensure cooperation, comfort, and optimal imaging results. Maintain competency in caring for patients of all ages and developmental stages. Maintain current knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, examination techniques, protocols, and best practices. Operate, clean, and maintain ultrasound equipment and coordinate repairs as necessary. Follow safe operating procedures for equipment, materials, and resources. Maintain accurate documentation, records, logs, and appropriate inventory of departmental supplies. Demonstrate proficiency in radiology information systems and participate in training for newly implemented technologies. Practice the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards. Adhere to all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and departmental procedures related to diagnostic imaging services. Follow infection prevention and control practices, including Standard Precautions and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a positive customer service approach in all patient and staff interactions. Maintain satisfactory attendance in accordance with organizational policy. Complete all required education, competency assessments, mandatory training, and continuing education requirements. Support the mission, vision, values, and philosophy of Auburn Memorial Medical Services. Adhere to the organization's dress code and wear an identification badge at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound Technology) program. Two (2) years of ultrasound experience preferred. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential or eligible to obtain within six (6) months of hire. Current CPR certification required.

Compensation:
$36.00 - $50.00 per hour, based on experience (DOE).
