Position Category Staff Part Time
Job Description The Ultrasound Technologist - Anatomy Education Support will play a key
instructional role in the medical school anatomy laboratory by
facilitating, demonstrating, and teaching ultrasound scanning
techniques to medical students. This position supports the integration
of ultrasound into the preclinical curriculum to enhance student
understanding of human anatomy, physiologic structures, and anatomic
relationships. The technologists will work collaboratively with anatomy
faculty, clinicians, and educational staff to deliver high-quality,
hands-on ultrasound learning experiences in a lab-based setting.
Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), RVT, or equivalent credential Demonstrated proficiency in ultrasound imaging, anatomy identification, and image optimization Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in education
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience teaching, training, or mentoring learners
(medical students, residents, or allied health students)
Familiarity with anatomy education, cadaver labs, or medical school curricula
Experience with point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications
Academic medical center or teaching hospital experience
Physical Demands Ability to stand for extended periods in lab settings
Manual dexterity to perform ultrasound scanning and equipment setup
Occasional lifting or repositioning of ultrasound equipment

Job Duty Facilitate ultrasound-based anatomy instruction for medical students in the anatomy lab and small-group settings
Job Duty Demonstrate proper ultrasound scanning techniques, image optimization, and probe handling
Job Duty Assist students in identifying normal human anatomy, spatial relationships, and surface landmarks using ultrasound imaging
Job Duty Reinforce correlations between ultrasound findings, cadaveric anatomy, imaging studies, and clinical relevance
Job Duty Support faculty-led teaching sessions by providing technical expertise and real-time imaging assistance
Job Duty Prepare ultrasound equipment and lab spaces prior to instructional sessions
Job Duty Ensure proper setup, calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of ultrasound machines and accessories
Job Duty Maintain compliance with institutional safety, hygiene, and infection control standards
Job Duty Assist in developing and updating ultrasound teaching protocols and instructional materials
Job Duty Collaborate with anatomy faculty, course directors, and clinical educators to align ultrasound instruction with curricular objectives
Job Duty Provide feedback to faculty regarding student performance, common learning challenges, and opportunities for curricular improvement
Job Duty Support educational innovation involving point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) across preclinical and early clinical curricula
