Lead Small Animal Veterinarian North Dallas Veterinary Hospital seeks a Medical Lead Veterinarian to oversee high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care for dogs and cats in our full-service small animal practice. The Medical Lead will manage complex cases, perform surgeries and dentistry, guide diagnostic and treatment plans, and ensure best-practice standards of care. This role includes mentoring veterinarians and support staff, supporting hospital protocols, and fostering strong, trusting relationships with clients in our compassionate, family-oriented, and client-focused environment. Provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care for dogs and cats Lead medical decision-making and oversee diagnostic and treatment plans Perform soft tissue surgeries and veterinary dentistry to hospital standards Ensure adherence to best-practice protocols, quality, and patient safety Mentor and support veterinarians, technicians, and support staff Collaborate with practice leadership on medical policies and workflow Communicate clearly with clients, providing education and treatment options Review medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance Support hospital participation in community and wellness initiatives Small animal general practice medicine Soft tissue surgery Veterinary dentistry Diagnostic imaging (radiology, ultrasound) Laboratory diagnostics and interpretation Anesthesia and pain management Electronic medical record systems Team leadership and staff mentoring Client communication and education Practice protocols and quality assurance Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school Active Texas veterinary license (or eligibility) USDA accreditation for health certificates preferred Experience with soft tissue surgery and dentistry DEA registration for controlled substances
